#LoveIndy

March 27, 2023

Everyone has their list of “must-haves” for their wedding day. For Tori and Michael, it was incorporating all things Indianapolis.

The couple described the day as “an event to celebrate our love story & the city that served as the backdrop.”

Tori and Michael met on Hinge, a year after both considered moving away from Indianapolis. After falling in love and building a life together in Indy, they realized how much they loved the city, and the people surrounding them.

With the combined help of Tori and Michael’s coordinator, and INDUSTRY’s Planning team offering additional setup support, INDUSTRY was transformed into a boho-vintage version of the Circle City, with moody and spooky touches to play into the Halloween weekend date!

To honor the connections Tori and Michael had made in Indianapolis, they personalized every detail, including having one of their best friends serve as their officiant, including their dog in the ceremony, featuring local beer and liquor at the bar, and building a custom seating chart inspired by the downtown Indianapolis neighborhoods!

In addition to the custom seating chart, Tori created an Indianapolis newspaper detailing the day’s events, which was placed on the ceremony chairs as their program.

Before guests arrived, the couple and wedding party — including their sweet dog — shared special moments including the first looks, and took photos in and around INDUSTRY.

Black candles in glass votives lined the ceremony aisle, creating a moody aesthetic leading up to a black triangle arch.

The moody aesthetic was a nod to the couple’s shared love for horror, and true crime.

Tori carried a stunning, large boho-style bouquet made by Flower Boys, to perfectly match the floral on the arch.

During cocktail hour, the couple’s signature drinks — Tori’s Harvest Mule, and Michael’s Old Fashioned were served by INDUSTRY bartenders. Each glass was adorned with a stir stick with Tori and Michael’s initials.

Guests also took turns leaving a voicemail on a vintage phone, in place of a traditional guest book, which was a huge hit! Many guests came back throughout the evening to share fun memories or anecdotes from the night.

In lieu of traditional table numbers, each reception table was named after a place in Indianapolis, including Newfields, The Canal, and Speedway.

Projected onto the brick wall behind the head table read, “The Witters,” along with their wedding date in roman numerals.

Beautiful black runners, chargers, and napkins carried the moody theme over from the ceremony, juxtaposed by large bohemian centerpieces in the middle of each family-style setting.

After a delicious dinner from Sweet and Savory Catering, the couple sliced into their gorgeous geode cake, and opened the dessert bar for guests.

Once everyone had enjoyed the decadent sweets, Howl 2 Go, a mobile version of dueling piano bar Howl at the Moon, began playing and guests hit the dance floor!

For additional entertainment, the couple rented INDUSTRY’s in-house corn hole boards, macrame swings, and open-air photo booth!

This Indianapolis-themed wedding was one for the books, and we absolutely loved helping bring Tori and Michael’s vision to life!
