A Barbie Dream Wedding at INDUSTRY

December 1, 2023

Vanessa and Bryan hosted their June wedding at INDUSTRY, and it was a Barbie dream come true!

The couple booked INDUSTRY Planning right away, and instantly bonded with their planner, Alisa. Alisa describes Vanessa and Bryan as “Super genuine, kind people. They always had some extra time at our planning meetings to chat about our lives and get to know each other.”

The couple’s love story includes a handful of first dates, since it took awhile for Vanessa to warm up to the relationship. Now, this makes a great story, and they couple incorporated details about each date into a part of their day in a unique way, which we’ll get to later!

The bride’s original design vision included jewel tones, but a few months before the wedding she changed her mind. Her new vision was bright pinks and oranges (the perfect Barbie palette!) to pair with the season.

Anthropologie was a huge inspiring factor in the decor. Their unity ceremony candles, a geode cake knife & server, and a Anthropologie dupe mirror used for their seating chart were all included in their day!

For her bridesmaids’ attire, Vanessa provided a color palette to work within, but gave her girls the freedom to find a dress that worked best for them. As a fun twist, rather than a flower girl, the couple had a flower man, complete with a flower belt bag!

In addition to her perfect wedding dress, Vanessa changed into an amazing reception jumpsuit covered in sparkles, with feathers on the sleeves.

Before the ceremony, the couple took photos at INDUSTRY, as well as all over downtown Indianapolis. at INDUSTRY, the officiant dressed up in Bryan’s mom’s wedding dress to surprised Bryan with a fake first look with the groom before the real one with Vanessa! (This trend will never not be funny!)

The couple’s dogs, Roo & Dain, walked down the aisle after the couple and stood with them at the altar. They were a bit scared by the paper confetti poppers as they walked back up the aisle with their parents, but they made it!

Vanessa is working on starting her own floral business, so she did the florals for the cake and rehearsal dinner, which made their way onto the built-in shelves behind INDUSTRY’s bar, on the bar itself, and down the ceremony aisle.

The couple rented a champagne wall from Sparkling Decor & More, which was available during cocktail hour, as well as INDUSTRY’s Photo Booth, which was a hit all evening!.

Dinner place settings included napkins alternating between three colors, a dried orange slice with each guest’s name on it, and a card sharing a piece of the couple’s love story. Each card alluded to one of those first dates, and then one shared their engagement story. This was a great way to get people talking during dinner!

To honor Bryan’s late father, he selected a song that was special to the two of them, and had it played during dinner. Bryan and his groomsmen were the only ones who knew about the song, so they were able to share a moment reflecting together.

At the end of the night, guests gathered to create the perfect grand exit with bottle sparklers! Vanessa specifically requested these, because when she and her girls were in Tulum for her bachelorette party, they were provided with them alongside any drink they ordered. It became a running joke, so she even sent some with the boys for Bryan’s bachelor party!

Everything about Vanessa and Bryan’s wedding was such a dream, and the whole team at INDUSTRY loved bringing their day to life!

Side note: Vanessa loved the planning process so much that she joined the assistant coordination team part-time after her wedding!
